Orthodox Psychology is a place where contemporary psychology is expressed and defined in its most rightful form - giving voice to lost aspects of psychology in our modern world amidst its failures, short sightedness, and even abusiveness.
"Orthodox" is a word that can be etymologically separated into two Classsical Latin words: orthos ‘straight or right’ and doxa ‘opinion.' "Orthodox" in this sense means what is normal - the right view or opinion rather than having religious connotations, though providing insight into the interplay between psychology and religion.
In this sense, Orthodox Psychology is not an encyclopedic definition, or overview of psychology as it is today but a commentary on it and an urge or rather an inspired effort to bring psychology to what it ought to be and can be: a way of freedom, health, and discovery - an elixir.
